Framework ECM Version 8 Headlines
Article Index Framework Version 8 is a major release and contains many major and minor new features. Below are some of the major features. A change has been made to the way that the software licensing is managed. Previously the software licensing was managed by a hardware sentinel key that required updating yearly. Licensing is now managed by the Insula Entitlments system. This provides automatic license updates and more flexible licensing options. Articles on managing entitlements. Framework apps can now be installed and run on machines running Windows 11. Framework now integrates with Active Directory for simplified security management of Framework access and security. The colour coding of construction activities has been introduced in Construction Logistics. Colour coding allows a builder to attach specific meaning to construction activities, and for this to be visible to all users across all Framework Logistics applications. Article on implementing colour coding for logistics activities The Diary Month view shows a summary of Tasks scheduled for each day. Tasks can be colour-coded for improved readability. Centralise all email communications for your projects. The Framework Inbox solution monitors your Office 365 emails, for relevant emails, and automatically creates a comment record with the email content. The monitor reviews the email subject and content for certain criteria to determine whether it should add a comment to Framework. Contains a project reference - (e.g body/subject contains a text in the pattern of “Project Ref: XXXX” ). For the Inbox email monitor to pick up that a number is a Job number (and not a Phone Number or Street Number) it must have one of the following in front of it to be able to be picked up correctly. (Job, Project, Proj, Ref, Reference, Id, Identifier) eg. Job 0019702. The sender is from a known customer's email address. If a matching project exists in the filter lists, with the sender as a customer, add the communication under that project. The recipient list contains a customer email address. If a matching project exists with the customer found in the recipient list, add the communication under the project. Any combination of 2 or 3. If multiple projects are matched, add as candidate records so that an admin can decide what project should have the communication. You must contact Insula to set up Framework Inbox. The Call Forward Gantt chart now supports up to 600 days (i.e. 120 weeks). New content, called Entity Resource, has been added. These are the teams, gangs, people, etc. under a supplier that are specifically allocated work (Logistics items/activities). This data comes from Framework Cloud via integration into the ECM database and the entity_resource table. This data is sync'd to Tablets, available for selection against Logistics Items in both ECM and Tablet. When creating your email signature you can now insert images More content is included/created when importing a price review specification management item into a Document item Section: Group: Name: {the item name} Description: {the item description} - don't show include if it's blank Change Tracking: {the item change tracking notes} - don't show include if it's blank Price Review: {this is a new label to be in front of what's done now, where the price review notes are shown and then the selection levels, notes, etc.} Article Pending You can now schedule reports to be run at specific times on a recurring basis. Previously you could only email certain reports. We've enabled the ability to PDF and email all reports from the Report Preview dialog. You can now add mail merge documents that are password protected so that they cannot be altered before merging them. We've added up to 10 UDF tables, extending on the ones we have now Code, DSVs, and all job functionality has been updated to support up to 10 UDF tables. This applies to creating/maintaining UDFs in Framework Administration, and their implementation/use in ECM. The new job process has been updated to support these extra records. Our SMS solution now supports text Sender IDs, like "INSULA" as the From number in an SMS. Several Databuild integrations have been done. Several Xero integrations have been done. Example Call Insula to discuss your Integration requirements. The F1 keyboard key now takes the user to the ECM Resource Centre. Framework Construction Logistics Tablet Version 8 Headlines
Logistics Tablet uses a special kind of entitlement called Per Device where the entitlement is tied to a named device. It can only be used on the one device until it is released. Managing your Per Device Licenses /wiki/spaces/FWECM/pages/2752937985 Synchroinisation times are now much shorter. Previously the reconciliation of each table was an exhaustive process in that the process involved stepping through every record at each end - tablet and office - and comparing each to identify records on the tablet that were no longer in the office and marking them for deletion - and then deleting them. This was very time consuming, especially for tables with many records, such as tel, crm_com, doc_item and spec_row etc. We have now improved this process dramatically by making this process an incremental reconciliation, so that each time it is performed now it is only considering deletions that have ocurred since the last time that table/packet was synced. Work orders functionality on the tablet is controlled by entitlements. Logistics Tablet Work Orders/Extras The colour coding of construction activities has been introduced in Construction Logistics. Implementing Logistics Activity Colour Coding Previously when a user rescheduled an activity firstly an email would be sent to call it off and then another email would be sent to call it up for the new date. This often meant that suppliers would be overloaded with emails calling off and calling up activities. The process has been simplified with enhancements to the Reschedule option which now only uses one email to reschedule the activity. Read this article for further information. There is a new way to reschedule items in bulk, when the selected activities are to be moved (or "shifted") by the same number of days, preserving the number of days between them, without having to manually change every activity. The SupplierConnect functionality for Framework has been reworked, and the on-premise web portal functionality has been deprecated. We have added new content called Entity Resource. These are the teams, gangs, people, etc. under a supplier that are specifically allocated work (Logistics items/activities). Article Pending This is a new feature for Logistics Tablet whereby the Daily Upload sync can now run automatically, on behalf of the tablet user, on a timer.
