Tablet "Auto-Sync" Feature

Overview

An auto-sync function has been added to Logistics Tablet.
This completes an “upload” of construction data, but does not complete a full sync.

Important: this does not replace the process of a full sync, but will keep the office more up-to-date with site changes.

The supervisor can turn this off in Logistics Tablet, but once enabled it will attempt the sync at each configured interval.

Functionality Delivered

Inside Framework ECM, two new preferences have been introduced.

Open

To enable this feature, Enable Auto Sync must be configured to True.

The Auto Sync Interval (mins) must be equal to or greater than 10 minutes.
Values less than 10 cannot be entered, and a validation prompt will appear.

The interval is what allows the tablet to know how often the auto-sync is to occur.

E.g., to have the auto-sync initiated every half-hour.

Open

From the supervisors point of view, the sync runs in the background, so won’t require any input from them.

If the user does not have connectivity, a connection error message may appear.

Important

• The sync will not complete if the sync app is already open (i.e., by the supervisor)

• The sync will not complete if a sync has been completed in the last 5 minutes

A sync will complete where possible, on the next interval.

Disabling the Auto Sync function

Note: This override only applies for Logistics Tablet while it is open. If you close/reopen Logistics Tablet, you must disable it again.

From Logistics Tablet, press the “Tools” option, and click the Disable Auto Sync option

To re-enable it, press Tools and Enable Auto Sync.
