LAN Synchronisation

The synchronisation of data between Framework Sales Advice Management and Framework ECM is an important process in the ongoing use of Framework Sales Advice Management.

Synchronisation supports:

  • Updating product, template, and VPB data from the office to the Framework Sales Advice Management database.
  • Submitting client, sales advice, land, and quotation data to the office for later importation into Framework ECM.
  • Synchronisation between the local computer and the Framework Sales Advice Management database.

Considerations and Timing for the Synchronising of Data between Framework ECM and Sales Advice Management (SAM)

Releasing new system data or document updates from the Administration Module (incl' Administration App) or VPB to SAM is controlled by the Framework Systems Administrator. Until the LAN Synchronise has been performed, updates will not appear in SAM. Deciding when to make the new content available to the salespeople is a decision for the business. It isn’t uncommon for SAM to be updated several weeks after new product designs and pricing has been created and checked. This would typically be released to the salespeople close to the launch date of new House Product to the public and only after testing by nominated staff and/or departments.

We recommend to businesses when preparing to release a new VPB to SAM that they provide their Sales Consultants adequate time to get signatures from their clients on any open/outstanding quotes e.g. 6 weeks notice, to lock-in current pricing for those clients, rather than moving them to the new VPB. This allows the salespeople time to discuss with their client's potential price increases once the new VPB is released (and might motivate the client to sign?). *Note: Variations will always use the most recent pricing/VPB.

Where a client fails to sign a quote in time, our recommendation is that the quote must start from new and be created with the latest Template linked to the new VPB. Sale staff would then add items from the new VPB as required. This is important as the VPB Administrator will have likely restructured the VPB and the VPB items reference numbers will have change between VPB versions.

*Note: Refreshing a copied quote, linked to a newer VPB via the toggle Standard VPB Item? runs the risk of bringing into the document a completely different VPB Item.

LAN Synchronise Dialog - Clients Tab

The Client tab is only relevant to users working in a local environment. If Framework Sales Advice Management is run in a hosted environment, such as Citrix or Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), the sales advice documents do not require synchronising.

The Clients tab is used to synchronise client's sales advice documents between the sales advice database and the sales advice master database.

Client sales advice documents may be moved between the sales advice and sales advice master databases with arrow buttons used to indicate the direction the information will be synchronised.
