The User Group screen displays Framework ECM's current user groups. The screen also displays the security level information for each user group.

User Group Levels

Each user group is assigned a permission level, which is used to determine the level of permissions that are assigned to that group of users. The higher the group level the more permissions users belonging to that group have. These permission levels can be fine-tuned for the individual user though the Security Permission screen.

Security levels are used in job ownership.

Example

When administrators are at the same level, one administrator cannot change information for a job belonging to another administrator. However, in the case where a typist is required to edit a number of jobs regardless of who owns them, their level is higher than that of the administrator.

Procedures

Creating A User Group

  1. Click New. The User Group dialog will be displayed.

  2. Enter the details.

  3. Click OK. The dialog will close and a new user group will be created.
