Updating the Client / File / Job Number

Job Numbers can be setup per region division or have Global Client/File/Job Numbers.

To get to this screen, navigate to the security module, select preferences from the side, then go to Framework ECM → Global.

Preference Settings

Against the Client Number Creation / File Number Creation / Job Number creation are the following settings. The below settings can be set at the Default or the Context (Region Division) levels only

  • -11032 Client Number Method,
    -11036 File Number Method,
-11040 Job Number Method - This can be set to  '[Not Applicable]' - (if this is set the Framework System controls the numbering) or Sequential Number

  • -11033 Client Number Prefix,
    -11037 File Number Prefix,
-11041 Job Number Prefix - You can set a number or Character to the start of a number. You can also add a Mask to make sure the Number length is consistent. eg AA#### - this has a prefix of AA and the job number can be 1 the resulting Number in Framework will be AA0001. without the mask the job number would be AA1.

  • -11034 Client Number Suffix,
    -11038 File Number Suffix,
-11042 Job Number Suffix - You can set a number or Character to the start of a number.

  • -11035 Client Last Number,
    -11039 File Last Number,
-11043 Job Last Number - if you want the next Number in Framework to be created as 10 then set the last number to 9.

When using the prefix and Last number together you can set the prefix to AA#### and the last number to 0 and this will set the next Number to AA0001.

In order to change an out-of-sync job / client / file number, you only need to edit the job/file/client number to a number that is higher than that of your current. E.g. Job 480 but no File/Client # 477-480. You would then have to make the last number 481 to ensure that they all can line up as expected.
