Job Types & Hierarchies
Framework ECM supports creating jobs of several different types.
Job Type | Class | Notes |
---|---|---|
[General Grouping Job] | General | A parent/sundry/community job as the 'top' of a job hierarchy. Often used for managing group/shared costs for a number of Single Lot jobs. |
Englobo Land Job | Land | A large undeveloped lot, group of lots, or parcel of land that is zoned to allow for, and capable of significant subdivision into smaller parcels under existing land use provisions. |
Estate Job | Land | A large undeveloped portion of an Englobo Land Job. |
Estate Stage Job | Land | An undeveloped portion of an Estate Job. |
Single Lot - Land Only Job | Land | A job specifically created to represent land only, with no building component, within an Estate Stage Job (or General Grouping Job). |
Single Lot - Land & Building(s) | Job/Project | The "standard" Framework Job for all typical construction requirements, created (typically) as stand-alone, or within an Estate Stage Job (or General Grouping Job). |
General Grouping Jobs
Grouping jobs are also sometimes known as "Parent Jobs", "Sundries Jobs", or "Community Jobs".
These jobs, in some way, group other Single Lot jobs (ie. Land-Only or Land-and-Building). These jobs are usually the top of a Job Hierarchy. They are often used for managing group/shared costs for a number of Single Lot jobs.
Creating a General Grouping Job
Within Framework ECM's Production module, click File|New.
- Enter the typical/required client, file, and land information as you would for a normal Land-and-Buildings job.
- Select the Job Tab
- Enter/confirm the desired job number for the grouping job
- Change the Job Type to "[General Grouping Job]"
- Enter a Job Name/Title and Job Description for the grouping job. This will be displayed in the Framework Context bar at the top of the screen when the job is selected
Customised Job Type Workflows
Depending on your Framework implementation, different job types will support different screens/pages, workflows, and system behaviour. For some job types certain screens/pages in the Production module may not be available.
Excluding Grouping Jobs From Reporting
Where multiple job types are used within Framework it is often important to exclude non-Single Lot jobs from production reporting. Use Standard Job Field Critieria to include/exclude different job types as required.
Creating a Job Hierarchy for General Grouping Jobs
Jobs can be organised in a job hierarchy to visualise how they are related to each other.
Within Framework ECM's Production module, navigate to the Files screen/page for a General Grouping Job.
- Select the Hierarchy tab
- Click the New button. The current job will be the first job under a new hierarchy
- Enter a name for the hierarchy
- Select the top job number in the hierarchy tree.
- Click the New button again. The Job Search dialog will appear enabling jobs (or Single Lot types) to be added to the hierarchy
- Search for and select a job to be added to the hierarchy
- Repeat the New process to additional jobs to the hierarchy
