Sentinel Hardware Licence Key Update

The licence key is updated using the Field Exchange Utility which is installed during the upgrade. Use the following procedure to update your licence key. If you have multiple keys, this process must be completed for each key.

1. The Field Exchange Utility must be run on the server/workstation that hosts the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key. This process can be performed using remote access.
2. Please close all Insula Software applications before performing this process.


  1. Open the Field Exchange Utility (Start > All Programs > Insula Software > Utilities > Field Exchange Licence Tool).
  2. Click Get Locking Code.



    If clicking the Get Locking Code button returns an error message, this indicates that the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key is not connected to the current machine.
  3. Copy the code using the Copy to Clipboard button. Email a copy of the code to Insula Software at support@frameworkecm.com.au.

    Insula Software will send you an updated code via email.
  4. Before updating the code, ensure all users have exited the system.
  5. Copy the new code into the second text box.
  6. Click Update License to complete the licence update.

    If an error is returned when you click the Update License button please contact Insula Software Support.
  7. On the computer that contains the sentinel key, restart the Sentinel Services.
    • Open Microsoft Services (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Administrative Tools > Services).
    • On the Services (Local) screen, right-click on Sentinel Protection Server and select Restart. The Services screen can now be closed.
      OR restart the computer that contains the sentinel key.
