AP Calculator

  • The calculator screen uses cost of goods, term, residual and repayment details to provide an indicative quote for an asset purchase.

  • The top-left of the screen displays the details of the currently logged in agent. The top-right of the screen displays details of the applicant and a description of the goods to be purchased.


By default, the Options group is hidden. To expand the group, click Options.


Opening the Calculator Screen

  • From the top of the screen, click Calculator.





Options Group

  • This group allows users to manually set the brokerage amount (using a percentage or dollar value), to display the effective interest rate in the calculation, and to select global or client rates.

  • The Options group is hidden by default.

  • To expand the Options group, click Options



FieldDescription
Custom Category

Note: This option is only displayed if the user has been granted permission to enter customised rate categories. Categories can only be set by the finance broker

Allows users to manually enter a custom wholesale interest rate amount.

Global Category

Note: This option is only displayed if global categories have been implemented. Categories can only be set by the finance broker.

Displays the selection of global interest rate categories, if applicable. Click the required global category to select.

Client Category

Note: This option is only displayed if client categories have been implemented. Categories can only be set by the finance broker.

Displays the selection of client interest rate categories, if applicable. Click the required client category to select.

Brokerage (%)

Fee charged by an agent, or agent's company to facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers, expressed as a percentage of the total amount.

The brokerage fee is charged for services such as negotiations, sales, purchases, delivery or advice on the transaction.

Fee charged by an agent, or agent's company, to facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers, expressed as a dollar amount.

Effective Rate Display?Toggle the visibility of the effective rate to the client.
Finance Method

Toggle the finance method.

Example: Asset purchase or chattel mortgage.

Finance GST on Term Charges?

Note: This option is only displayed if Finance Method is set to Asset Purchase

Toggle the finance method for the GST value on term charges:

  • Tick: The GST value on term charges will be included in the total amount financed and will be factored into the quote repayments.

  • Untick: The GST value on term charges will not be financed. This typically indicates the client will pay the value upfront.



Cost of Goods Group



Excluding GST

Net cost of the goods to be supplied.

Note: If the goods details have been entered, this will be the sum of all goods details.

Including GST

Total cost of the goods to be supplied.

Note: If the goods details have been entered, this will be the sum of all goods details.

SolveTo solve the quote calculation for the Cost of Goods group, enter all details in the Term, Residual and Repayments groups and click the Solve button. The quote amount will be displayed on the Solved panel on the right hand side of the screen.



Term Group

Term (Months)

Length (in months) of the finance application. Click the Term (Months) drop-down list to select.


Residual Group


FieldDatabase
Residual %Residual value of the finance application. Click the Residual Value % drop-down list to select.
SolveTo Solve the quote calculation for the Residual group, enter all details in the Cost of Goods, Term and Repayments groups and click the Solve button. The quote amount will be displayed on the Solved panel on the right-hand side of the screen.



Repayments Group

MonthlyMonthly repayment amount
WeeklyWeekly repayment amount. The number of working weeks per year can be manually entered, if required.
DailyDaily repayment amount. The number of working days per week can be manually entered, if required.
HourlyHourly repayment amount. The number of working hours per day can be manually entered, if required.
SolveTo solve the quote calculation for the Repayments group, enter all details in the Cost of Goods, Term and Residual groups and click the Solve button. The quote amount will be displayed on the Solved panel on the right-hand side of the screen.


Buttons


ButtonDescription

Click to save the application.

Click to submit the quote to the finance broker.

Note: If performing a quick quote, this option will not be available.

Click to solve the calculations. The Solved panel on the right hand side of the screen will be updated.

Click to print the quote. Opens the quote in a new window.
