Some of the functionality in this article is only available in The Finance Shop version 13 or higher.

The Tools \ Client screen provides you with some really useful ways to keep in contact with your clients. This article shows you how to effectively use the features within the screen.

The screen is accessed from the Tools submenu.

Filter -  allows you to filter clients or prospects or both on;

  • Their rank (As set in the Client \ Marketing screen.)
  • The From \ To Date that they were last contacted on  (As set in the Client \ Marketing screen.)
  • The From \ To Date that they should next be contacted on  (As set in the Client \ Marketing screen.)

Filter - Owner (As set in the Client \ Marketing screen.) There is a DB Tool to set the ownership of clients.

Email -  When you click on either the client or contact email address the email dialog will open.

When sending from this screen you can only use client level email templates and not application level ones.

If you have enabled SMS communications in TFS (You can send free SMS from TFS as long as you have an active ASM agreement.) when you double click on the mobile number the Communicate dialog will open enabling you to send an SMS.

6The Last and Next Contact dates are maintained in the Client \ Marketing screen.
7The Last Comment shows you the last comment made against the client. This includes emails.

Navigation Tip

The Finance Shop uses a Multiple Document Interface which allows you to quickly and easily navigate between screens. Say for example you are working through your clients and want to work on multiple clients Marketing preferences

  • Open the Marketing screen;

          


          If you click on the Window option at the Top of the screen you will see the screens that you have open;

          


  • In the Clients screen filter the view to the clients that you want to work on;

          

  • You can then click on the client you want to work on and when you hit the Select button they client will be loaded as the current client in the context bar

          


  • When you click on the Client Marketing option under Window 

        

         The Client Marketing screen will be for that client. 

  • When you have finished making the changes click on the Window option and select the Clients Option to switch back to your filtered list of clients.

        


  • You could also select the Cascade option to easily switch between the open windows.
