Problem

Icon will not launch Framework Application or Framework Application cannot see the Framework mapped drive in Windows 8, Windows 8.1 Windows 10 

Solution

Editing the Framework Application Icon Compatibility

Complete this on any Framework Application that is failing to Start correctly
  1. Right Click on the Icon
  2. Click on the Troubleshoot Program
  3. Select the below settings
  4. Select Windows 7
  5. Click on Test the program...




Updating Registry to Enable Linked Connections for Mapped Drives

  1. Run Regedit32.exe
  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
  3. Add a DWORD (32bit)
  4. New DWORD should be named EnableLinkedConnections 
  5. Edit the Vaue = 1
  6. You must reboot your PC after making this change.
