The Preference Level list displays a hierarchy of preference levels. Defaults: This is the default value for a preference, all users across all contexts will have this value by default UNLESS the Context, User Group or User setting is different. Context: This is the value for a selected context, all users in a selected context will have this value by default UNLESS either a User Group or User setting is different. User Group: This is the value for a selected user group, all users in a selected user group will have this value by default UNLESS the User setting is different. User: Is the value for an individual user, any value here applies to that user only. The four preference levels are checked for custom settings from the bottom up (User, User Group, Context, and Default) so that TFS will apply a preference based on the first custom value it finds or it will use the default value. |
