- To Launch successfully, Framework requires a connection to a number of databases, typically located on a server separate to your PC.
- This guide outlines how to configure those connections.
- After installing Framework and Insula Core Components, click Start>All Programs
- Navigate to Insula Software>Utilities and open Data Sources (ODBC)
- Navigate to the System DSN tab and click Add.
- In the Create New Data Source dialog, select SQL Server Native Client and then click Finish.
- Type a name for the Data source. For Framework ECM this will be FworkSQLEcm, for the Framework Licence Database it will be FworkSQLLic
- Select the applicable server from the Server drop-down menu and click Next.
- Determine the type of Authentication that this data source will use. This will be dependent on your environment and if unsure, your IT Department should be able to advise. Generally, if your PC is a part of a Domain, you will select With Integrated Windows Authentication. If you select SQL Server Authentication, please see SQL Authenticationfor more important information. Click Next.
- Check Change the default database to: and select the relevant database from the drop-down and then click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Test Data Source...
- If the test completes successfully, the Framework client should be able to establish a connection to the database. If not, go back and ensure you entered the correct settings.
