Octal8 BizPrac Purchase Orders Integration - Installation

Any workstation or server that is to perform integration must first be installed with all the required software to access and operate the respective systems (including Framework).

Ensure Octal8 BizPrac is installed and working on the server/workstation. For detailed instructions for installing and configuring Octal8 BizPrac, please see the relevant Octal8 BizPrac installation product manuals.

Framework Integration

For detailed instructions on installing Framework Integration , refer to the Framework Installation Quick Guide. 

In brief, the installation of the following is required: 

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008.
  • Insula Core Components
  • DSN configurations for:
    • Framework (FworkSQLEcm)
    • Framework Licence (FworkSQLLic)

Framework Construction Logistics Desktop

After Framework Integration has been installed, install the Framework Logistics Desktop software.

This software is available from: 

  • \\[fw folder]\Setup\

Licence Installation

The Framework licence hardware key must be updated to allow access to Construction Logistics Desktop. This is done by requesting a licence key update fromInsula Software. Refer to the Licence Key Update procedure in the Framework ECM Installation Guide.

The following licence is required to be installed and activated on the database server. This can only be done by Insula Software and will be completed as a part of purchasing Framework Integration .

Install SoftVelocity Topspeed ODBC V5.0 Driver

Installs the read only version of the Topspeed ODBC DSN Drive.

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Browse to: \[fw folder]\Setup\SoftVelocity TopSpeed ODBC Driver\
  3. Double-click the TS-ODBC-505.exe file. The Welcome step of the installation dialog will be displayed.
  4. Click the Next button. The Licence Agreement step will be displayed.
  5. Select I accept the terms in the licence agreement.
  6. Click the Next button. The Customer Information step will be displayed.
    • Enter your User Name.
    • Enter your Company Name.
    • Enter your Serial Number.
  7. Click the Next button. The Destination Folder step will be displayed.
  8. Click the Next button. The Select Program Folder step will be displayed.
  9. Click the Next button. The Ready to Install the Program step will be displayed.
  10. The application will be installed.
  11. Click the Finish button. The Information step will be displayed.
  12. Click the Finish button.

BizPrac Database DSN Installation

For Framework Integration to read information from Octal8 BizPrac, an ODBC Data Source Name (DSN) connection to the Octal8 BizPrac database is required.

  1. Open Data Sources (ODBC).
  2. Select the System DSN tab.
  3. Click the Add button. The Create New Data Source dialog will be displayed.
  4. Select SoftVelocity Topspeed Driver (*.tps).
  5. Click the Finish button. The Topspeed Data Source Name Configuration dialog will be displayed.


     
  6. In the Name field, enter the Data Source Name (DSN) name (typically FworkBizprac).
  7. Click the Directory button to select the location of the database.
    OR
    Enter the name of the database location.
  8. If the Extension field is blank, enter: tps
  9. Click the OK button.
