The Quotes Tool provides a simple consolidated area to manage all quotations for both clients and prospects. The contents shows for a selected broker all of the current quotes that they have created.


Brokers should regularly maintain their quotes list, deleting quotes that are not required to ensure that active quotes and prospects can be followed up.


Adding a quote into The Finance Shop is performed through the Quick Calculator Tool.

  • From the Tools menu, select Quotes.
  • From the sidebar, select Tools then Quotes.

Quotes can be imported from another client.

  1. Click the Import button. The Search dialog will be displayed.

  2. Enter the search criteria (Refer to the Application Search section for more information about application search criteria)

     If the Quote Number is known, enter it into the Application Number field. Quote Numbers are different to Application Numbers and typically start with the letter Q (e.g., Q1, Q235).

  3. Highlight a quote from the Search Results list.
  4. Click the Select button. The quote will be added to the current list of quotations.
  5. The Application Search dialog will close and the Calculations dialog will be displayed.

Quotes can be converted into an application. Once converted, a quote will be removed from the quotations list and a new application will be created with TFS using the quote details and assigning the next available Application Number.

TFS will automatically create a Goods Details record type of Motor Vehicle to a converted quotation. Please remember to update these details via the Goods Details screen.

  1. Select a quote from the Client Quotes list.
  2. Click the Convert button. A Convert Quote to Application prompt will appear.
  3. Click the Yes button to convert the quote into an application.

    Click the No button to cancel the process.

Quotes can be copied. Copied quotes allow users to view multiple variations of a possible deal (e.g., repayments over different time periods or repayments with varying residuals). After the quote is copied, the Quick Calculator dialog will be displayed. Surplus quotes can then be deleted.

  1. Select a quote from the Client Quotes list.
  2. Click the Copy button. The quote is copied. The Quick Calculator dialog will be displayed.
  3. Modify the current quote details.
  4. Click the OK button. The copied quote appears in the Client Quotes list.

IMPORTANT CONCEPTS

  • The Select Broker drop-down list allows users to view all quotes for the currently selected broker.
  • Use the SmartLodge feature to email a quote to a client. From the File menu, select SmartLodge.
