The Messages screen manages the messages that have been sent or received by the user within Framework ECM.

Note: Messages on this screen do not include SMS messages.

Procedures


Creating A Message

  1. Click New. The Message dialog will be displayed.
  2. Enter the details.
  3. Click Send to send the message. The dialog will close and the message will be sent.
    OR
    Click Save as Draft to save the message as a draft. The dialog will close and the message will be available from the Drafts folder.

Opening A Draft Message

  1. From the Message Folders list, select Drafts. The Messages list will be updated.
  2. Select a draft message.
  3. Click Edit. The Message dialog will be displayed.
  4. Edit the message.
  5. Click Send to send the message. The dialog will close and the message will be sent.
    OR
    Click Save as Draft to save the message as a draft. The dialog will close and the message will be available from the Drafts folder

This dialog is used to create a message that can be sent between Framework ECM users.

General Group

Field

Description

Job Specific Message?

Is the message specific to a job?

  • Yes (default): The message is specific to a job.
  • No: The message is not specific to a job.

Job Number

Job number associated with the message.

From

Person sending the message.

To

Person receiving the message. Click the To popup button to select. Opens the Message Recipients Dialog.

Cc

Person(s) receiving a carbon copy of the message.

Importance

Priority level of the message.

Example: High, Normal, Low.

Subject

Subject heading of the message.

Message

Text of the message.

Sent Group

Field

Description

Date

Date the message was sent. This field is locked and cannot be edited.

Time

Time the message was sent. This field is locked and cannot be edited.

Buttons

Button

Description

Click to save the message as a draft. Draft messages are available in the Drafts message folder.

Click to send the message. Sent messages are available in the Sent Items message folder.

Message Recipients Dialog

This dialog is used to add or remove recipients from a message. This dialog is accessed by clicking the To popup button on the Message dialog.

Staff Member List

Column

Description

Name

Name of the staff member.

Recipients List

Column

Description

Primary

Indicates if a recipient is the primary contact.

Name

Name of the recipient.

Buttons

The Copy buttons are located between the Staff Member and Recipients lists.

Button

Description

 Copy

Click to copy a selected person from the Staff Member list to the Recipients list.

 Copy

Click to copy a selected person back from the Recipients list to the Staff Member list, essentially removing them as a Recipient.

Click to set the recipient as the primary recipient.
