This article describes a solution to the error message as shown below:

Solution:

When opening up Data Sources (ODBC) 32 Bit (64 Bit OS), you will need to ensure that on the DSN tab, you select SQL Native Client, and not SQL Server.

Selecting SQL Server will not allow the correct drivers to be used and result in an error message as shown above.

Ensuring that this is selected prior to configuring your data source will eliminate the possibility of this error message showing in the future.

Ensure to use the 64 Bit Version of ODBC. This can be found under Start → All Programs → Insula Software/Utilities → Data Sources ODBC (Note, this only works if you have Insula Core Components installed).

Alternatively, you can go to C: drive, Windows → SysWOW64 → Find odbcac32
