This article explores how to cancel a job

Who is this document intended for?
Framework Job Administrators

Background

There are many and varied reasons why a job would be Cancelled. From failing to secure finance, purchasing with another builder to the perception of poor service or personal reasons. Tracking cancelled jobs and understanding why clients are no longer engaged with building there home provides the opportunity to improve customer relationships and company processes.  The Cancelled status used to describe these jobs is given by entering certain information into Framework Ecm.

For this to occur, you need to navigate to the client tab, then to job. This will bring up information relating to the job you currently have selected.

To change a job to Cancelled, you will need to edit the category to indicate the reason for cancellation. Entering a date along with a reason will cancel a job, however leaving the date field blank will change the job status to pending cancellation. Ensure that you do not enter dates into both cancelled/deleted fields, as this will cause the job status to be deleted.

To revert this change, simply remove the cancelled date and alter the category of the cancellation back to [Unknown].

Changing The Status Of A Job From Active To Cancelled

In the Production Management module of Framework ECM:

  1. Select or search for the job to be cancelled.

2. Open the Job Overview screen (Client > Job Overview) and click Edit

3. Under the Cancellation group, enter a Cancelled date. Click OK to commit the changes to Framework.

Note:

Selecting a cancellation Category without entering a Cancelled date changes the status of the job to Pending Cancellation. When changing the status of a job to Cancelled, a Cancelled date must be selected. Though it is not necessary to select a cancellation category for a cancellation, it does assist in classifying the cancellation for more specific and useful reporting.

4. From the Category drop-down list, select a cancellation category. Click OK.

Note:

Note: The status bar indicates that the job has been cancelled.
