Step 5 - Important Dates

The Important Dates page in Framework MyNewHome is the site's implementation of a work flow model that lists all major and minor stages of a job's path through the construction process. It is important to verify the stages to be included in the site, their preferred name that will make sense to clients, and the Framework field that will be retrieved to indicate that the stage is complete.

Minimum Web Site Content Requirements

Assuming that there was no customisation to be done to the standard Framework MyNewHome page captions, introductory text, etc., the following items are required to be prepared and implemented by the builder:

  • News items (including date, title, description).
  • Determination of work flow model (the major and minor stages to be shown to the client and what Framework field data each stage will display).
  • Work flow stage descriptions (both short and full descriptions are required for every stage).
  • Work flow stage requirements of you (details of what the builder requires of the client for every stage).
  • House type descriptions.
  • Gallery of images for every house type (multiple images where possible).
  • Gallery of images for each façade (by house type if possible).
  • Gallery of drawings for every house type (multiple images where possible).

Step 6 - Website Content Collection/Creation

The Framework MyNewHome application is used to configure all aspects of a Framework MyNewHome website. It is expected that all content and configuration will be done by the builder using this application. This will ensure that all aspects of site management are understood by internal staff and can be easily administered.

Existing content that is already available should be collected and collated into Framework MyNewHome. New content to be created, such as artwork, should be considered as early as possible to ensure that it is available for the launch of the site. If required, Insula Software can assist with the collection and/or creation of content.

Artwork

Website Artwork

There are several areas of MyNewHome where artwork is displayed, as either part of the site itself, or in the content displayed for a particular client/job. The following table outlines artwork dimensions required in each area of MyNewHome.

When creating a full size image, a thumbnail should also be prepared

520 x 350

Contact Photos

Photos of the company, display centre, and staff.

250 x 170

Storing images with dimensions other than those specified may produce unpredictable and undesirable results. The MyNewHome website does not perform any image manipulation (resize, stretch, etc.).

Banner Artwork

The most significant artwork to be created for the Framework MyNewHome website are the page banners. This allows the builder to customise potentially every page with specific images, text, and themes as a user navigates the site.

When determining page banner artwork requirements, consider the following issues:

  • Will there be only one banner for the entire site or will there be a different banner for each section (toolbar option)?
  • Will there be a different banner for each page (toolbar/sidebar option combination)?
  • Is the company logo required in the banner?
  • Is the company name required in the banner?
  • Is the name/logo of the Framework MyNewHome section required in the banner?
  • Is the name/logo of the Framework MyNewHome page required in the banner?
  • Are there colour/style themes to be maintained through the site in each banner?
  • Where Insula Software is to create artwork for Framework MyNewHome, clear instructions on these issues must be provided along will all necessary artwork source materials.

Step 7 - Framework Data Review

The following lists the data from Framework that is displayed directly to clients using the Framework MyNewHome website. This data should be carefully reviewed to ensure it is appropriate for display to clients.

  • Diary appointment descriptions.
  • Diary staff names.
  • Diary locations.
  • Comment department names.

Step 8 - Framework Database Server Configuration

Each Framework MyNewHome website is dynamically configured and controlled at runtime by a configuration database. Like current Framework Product Suite databases, the Framework MyNewHome configuration databases should be created on the database server.

Database Server Requirements

  • Add additional Microsoft SQL Server databases for each Framework MyNewHome configuration database.

Example

Some organisations have different regions/divisions for which they would like to create a different look and feel for each MyNewHome website.

Step 9 - Framework Application Configuration

Single User Setup Of Web Users

Clients must be a valid web user to use the Framework MyNewHome Web Portal. Framework MyNewHome Web Portal users are setup in Framework ECM.

  1. Open Framework ECM.
