The Item screen displays all Variation Price Book (VPB) items entered for a selected section of the VPB.

There are three types of items that can be entered:

  1. Note Item: Additional notes regarding an existing standard item.
  2. Standard Item: Includes all information for a standard item, including quantity, unit, pricing details, area pricing and applicability. A description of the item can also entered
  3. Table Item: Tables are made up of pricing information for standard items that are available for a number of choices. Tables are particularly useful for calculating prices for non-standard selections, based on the quantity and the standard item on which it is based.

Example: A table may display the additional cost for non-standard brick selections for a specific house type that has a pre-determined brick quantity.


Procedures

Creating A Note Item

Tip: Note items are not printed in the client document and are often used as either internal instructions for staff or as separators/headings.

  1. Click New. The Select Item Type dialog will be displayed.
  2. Select Note Item.
  3. Click OK. The General tab of the Note Item dialog will be displayed.
  4. Enter the details.
  5. Select the BOQ Links tab.
  6. Enter the details.
  7. Click OK. The dialog will close and a new note item will be created.

Creating A Standard Item

  1. Click New. The Select Item Type dialog will be displayed.
  2. Select Standard Item.
  3. Click OK. The General tab of the Standard Item dialog will be displayed.
  4. Enter the details.
  5. Select the Area Pricing tab.
  6. Enter the details.
  7. Select the Validity tab.
  8. Enter the details.
  9. Select the Formula tab.
  10. Enter the details.
  11. Select the Miscellaneous tab.
  12. Enter the details.
  13. Select the Image tab.
  14. Enter the details.
  15. Select the BOQ Links tab.
  16. Enter the details.
  17. Click OK. The dialog will close and a new standard item will be created.

Creating A Table Item

  1. Click New. The Select Item Type dialog will be displayed.
  2. Select Table Item.
  3. Click OK. The General tab of the Table Item dialog will be displayed.
  4. Enter the details.
  5. Select the Columns tab.
  6. Enter the details.
  7. Select the Rows tab.
  8. Enter the details.
  9. Select the Validity tab.
  10. Enter the details.
  11. Select the Image tab.
  12. Enter the details.
  13. Select the BOQ Links tab.
  14. Enter the details.
  15. Click OK. The dialog will close and a new table item will be created.


Select Item Type Dialog

This dialog is used to select the type of VPB item that will be created. Three options are typically available: 

  • Note Item: Additional notes regarding an existing standard item.
  • Standard Item: Includes all information for a standard item, including quantity, unit, pricing details, area pricing, and applicability. A description of the item is also entered.
  • Table Item: Tables are made up of pricing information for standard items that are available for a number of choices. Tables are particularly useful for calculating prices for non-standard selections, based on the quantity and the standard item on which it is based.

Example: 
- Note Item: Separator headings for each type of facade.
- Standard Item: Garage Doors, External Doors, Fences, etc.
- Table Item: Bricks, House Types & Facades (if sold together), etc.

Name

Name of the available VPB item types. Highlight the required VPB item type and click OK.

For note items, the General tab of the Note Item dialog will be displayed.

For standard items, the General tab of the Standard Item dialog will be displayed.

For table items, the General tab of the Table Item (Base Prices) dialog will be displayed.
