This article describes a solution to the error as shown below:

Icon will not launch Framework Application, or Framework Application cannot see the Framework mapped drive in Windows 8, Windows 8.1 Windows 10.

Solution:

Editing the Framework Application Icon Compatibility


  1. Right Click on the Icon


  2. Click on the Troubleshoot Program


  3. Select the below settings


  4. Select Windows 7


  5. Click on Test the program...


Updating Registry to Enable Linked Connections for Mapped Drives
  1. Run Regedit.exe
  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
  3. Add a DWORD (32bit)
  4. New DWORD should be named EnableLinkedConnections 
  5. Edit the Vaue = 1
  6. You must reboot your PC after making this change.
