The Revenue Splits dialog allows users to split revenue between different parties. For example, between the company organisation and the individual broker or allowing splits based on referrals from other clients.

Opening the Revenue Screen - Click here to expand...
  • From the Application menu, select Revenue.
  • From the sidebar, select Application then Revenue.

Adding a Revenue Split - Click here to expand...

1. Before adding revenue splits, the Total and Broker Net amounts must be entered on the Revenue tab.
2. To complete a revenue split, 100% of the brokerage amount must be assigned.

  1. Open the Revenue screen.
  2. Click on the revenue item that you want to apply the split too.
  3. Click the Edit button. The Revenue dialog is displayed.
  4. Select the Split tab.

The default split is Broker 100%. If you are applying a different template select one by clicking on the dropdown list button.

You will then see the following message

You can manually apply splits to revenue items provided the split is not çomplete'

  1. Click the New button (). The Revenue Split dialog is displayed.
  2. You then need to select Yes to apply an End Split or No to apply a Group Split. An End split is a set value that is given directly to an entity. A group split is a value that is divided between several entities.

  3. Enter the split details.
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. Repeat steps  until 100% of the amount has been assigned.

Example of a Completed Split

This split gives a set amount of $200 to the default referrer, and the rest of the revenue is divided 50/50 between the broker and the Enterprise.

For more information on setting up templates refer to the Revenue Split Templates page.

How to Select a Revenue Split Template - Click here to expand...

The following conditions apply to revenue splits:
1. When creating a split template, you can only have a minimum split at the first level. i.e., not within a group split.
2. When creating a custom split in TFS, you must create fixed amount splits first before creating percentage splits. Once the first percentage split is added, you will not be able to create anymore fixed splits.
3. When creating a new split, if you set a minimum split you cannot have a fixed split.
4. You cannot add to an End Split.
5. You cannot add splits that bring the total to more than 100%. For example, if 95% has been allocated then the next End Split or Group Split cannot be greater than 5%.
6. The Revenue Split dialog includes a list to select the specific entity. If you choose "[Specific Entity]" from this list then the Entity field will be available in the Revenue Split dialog to search for and select a specific entity. Any other selection (i.e., "Referrer") will dynamically change value based on the current application details.

IMPORTANT CONCEPTS

  • End Split?: Toggle Yes/No. The default setting is Yes. If changed to No, this allows the creation of group splits (see the example below).
  • Specific Entity: there are six (6) pre-defined options, Accountant, Broker, Enterprise, Referred, Vendor, and [Specific Entity].
  • Minimum Split?: Toggle Yes/No. A minimum dollar ($) amount for the split. The default setting is No. If changed to Yes, the Minimum Split field is changed to active.
  • Fixed Amount?: Toggle Yes/No. The default setting is No. If changed to Yes, the Fixed Amount field is changed to active and thus requires a dollar value.

Note: Fixed Amount splits MUST be created before any other revenue splits.

  • Percentage Split: the percentage value assigned to a particular split.
  • Paid: the date the split is paid.
