The keyboard can be used instead of the mouse to quickly select commands. In addition to the standard Microsoft Windows keyboard shortcuts that can be used, there are a number of shortcuts that are specific to Framework ECM.

TAB		Moves the cursor from field to field on a screen.
ENTER		Opens a dialog on the fields that have a popup dialog button. Performs a button command when a button is selected.
SPACEBAR		Automatically enters the current date (in a date field) or the current time (in a time field). The spacebar is also used to toggle a flag field (i.e., yes to no; no to yes).
HOME		Moves the cursor to the beginning of a line or field.
END		Moves the cursor to the end of a line or field.
F1		Opens the user guide.
F2		Opens the Work Flow Overview screen.
F3		Opens the Select Job dialog.
F4		Opens the Search dialog.
F5		Refreshes the data that is currently displayed.
F6		Opens the Alert Overview screen.
F7		Opens the Comment Overview screen.
F8		Opens the Month Diary screen.
F9		Opens the Follow Up Overview screen.
F12		Log on or log off Framework ECM.

SHIFT + F4		Opens the Job Merge Document History screen.
SHIFT + F5		Re-reads and refreshes the data that is currently displayed.
SHIFT + F6		Opens the Search for a Free Time dialog.
SHIFT + F7		Opens the Department Comments dialog.
SHIFT + F8		Opens the Day Diary screen.

The Toolbar has icon shortcuts to click. To see what the icons do, hover the mouse for a Tooltip.

Navigating through the Menus can be done using the Alt key. On the dropdown menus, options appear with an underlined letter. Using the Alt key and the underlined letter selects that option.

Example

To select Preliminaries screen, hold down the Alt key and select

p for Production

a for Administration, then

m for Preliminaries.
