Database Tools


CRITICAL

Database tool operations permanently affect your data and should only be performed in consultation with Insula Software.

Database tools include functions which repair or force the modification of data in the Framework ECM database. The tools are predominately used to update the database with data that has been created or captured outside the standard Framework ECM interface, such as synchronised data from external components. They can also be used to repair data that has become corrupted.

Two tabs are available on the Database Tools screen:

  • Tools Tab
  • Services Tab
The Database Tools screen is not accessible from all Framework ECM modules.

Tools Tab

Perform A Database Modification Using A Database Tool

  1. From the Database Tools list, select a database tool.
  2. From the General list, select: 
    • Apply To
    • Region/Division
    • Context
    • Criteria
  3. Click Start. The Perform Selected Operations confirmation prompt will appear.
  4. Click Yes. The database tool will be performed.

Add Zero Records to All Tables

The Add Zero Records to all Tables tool ensures that the Framework database contains the necessary data to operate correctly.


Compile Construction Chart Data

The Compile Construction Chart Data tool prepares Framework construction data so that it displays correctly on the Construction Chart report.

Compile Labour Allocation Entity Statistics (Carpenter)

The Forecast Labour Requirements tool is used to apply a pre-determined labour program to determine how carpenter labour is currently allocated to jobs and their activities.

Compile Labour Allocation Entity Statistics (Standard)

The Forecast Labour Requirements tool is used to apply a pre-determined labour program to determine how various labour is currently allocated to jobs and their activities.

Create Construction Programme

The Create Construction Programme tool automates the creation of a pre-determined construction program against jobs, based on the selected criteria.

Forecast Labour Requirements

The Forecast Labour Requirements tool is used to apply a pre-determined labour program to determine which jobs and activities will require labour allocation.

Linked Files - Create Client Folders

Creates the Client Linked Files based on the criteria and Linked Files path in the Configuration.


Linked Files - Create Job Folders

Creates the Client Linked Files based on the criteria and Linked Files path in the Configuration.


Linked Files - Create Land Folders (All Lands)

Creates the Land Linked Files for all enterprise land with a Land Number, based on the Linked Files path in the Configuration.


Linked Files - Create Purchase Order Folders

Creates the Client Linked Files based on the criteria and Linked Files path in the Configuration.


Permanently Delete Client (This Cannot Be Undone)

The Permanently Delete Client tool deletes a client record so that is physically removed from the database and is no longer accessible. This is different to changing the status to Deleted, and is irreversible.

Permanently Delete File (This Cannot Be Undone)

The Permanently Delete File tool deletes a file record so that is physically removed from the database and is no longer accessible. This is different to changing the status to Deleted, and is irreversible.

Permanently Delete Job (This Cannot Be Undone)

The Permanently Delete Job tool deletes a job record so that is physically removed from the database and is no longer accessible. This is different to changing the status to Deleted, and is irreversible.

Recalculate Logistics Progress

Run Logistics MS-Access Triggers

The Run Logistics MS-Access Triggers tool forces the launch of a pre-determined triggers database.


Update All Construction Details

The Update All Construction Details tool combines the following tools;

Update Construction Claims

The purpose of the Update Construction Claims tool is to force the capture of claim dates and use them to raise the claims, based on the selected criteria.

Update Construction Delays

The Update Construction Delays tool forces the recalculation of all statistics and ensures the anticipated completion date is correct.

Update Construction History Notes

The Update Construction History Notes tool is used to force the Supervisors Comments for the progress period to be viewed in the Construction Overview screen, based on the selected criteria.

Update Construction Progress

The purpose of the Update Construction Progress tool is to update a jobs progress percentage, statistics and relevant forecasting for all periods with recent activity, based on the selected criteria.

Update Construction Progress (All including non-dirty)

The purpose of the Update Construction Progress tool is to update a jobs progress percentage, statistics and relevant forecasting, based on the selected criteria. The “non-dirty” relates to progress periods that have not had recent activity. This tool will run across all progress periods associated with the job.

Update Job Status

The Update Job Status tool is used to force the update of status (Active, On Hold, Cancelled, Deleted) on jobs, based on the selected criteria.

Update Logistics Item Completion Statistics

The Update Logistics Item Completion Statistics tool is used to force the calculation of the progress percentages on individual activities within the construction program for a job.

Apply To:

·         All jobs by major stage

·         Region/Division

·         Criteria: Construction

Update Maintenance Request Work Flow Stage

The Update Maintenance Request Work Flow Stage tool is used to force the update of the request stage on jobs, based on the selected criteria.

Update Total Number of Tender Appointments

The Update Total Number of Tender Appointments tool ensures the Tender appointment count for a job is updated and correct.

Update Workflow Stage

The Update Workflow Stage tool is used to force the update of minor stage on jobs, based on the selected criteria.

Services Tab

Refreshing A Data Service

  1. Click Refresh. The Data Services list will update.

Exporting A Data Service

  1. Click Export. The Save As dialog will be displayed.
  2. Select the export details.
  3. Click Save. The details of the data service will be exported to the chosen location.
