The Framework Configuration Utility is a tool that enables system administrators to configure and manage Framework ECM. It is installed as part of Framework ECM.

Opening Framework Configuration Utility

Click Start > All Programs > Insula Software > Framework Configuration Utility. Framework Configuration Utility will open.

Version Tab

The Version tab is used to manage minimum version of Framework ECM.

It also displays the licensee and the current version of the Framework ECM database.

Folders Tab - This has moved to Security Module under Preferences

The Folders tab is used to manage shared folder, linked files, and master folder locations for Framework ECM and Framework Logistics Tablet.

A path can be set in two ways.

When selecting the path popup, the Select Drive dialog will be produced.

Selecting a Mapped Drive

To select a mapped drive, use the dropdown and make the selection.

Entering a UNC Path

Enter the path using the format \\[server]\[share drive] then select the button to Browse to Specified Folder.

Framework ECM Folders

Field	Description
Drive Letter/Base UNC Path	Drive or Path where the Framework files are located.
Folder	Base folder where the Framework files are stored.
Base Framework Path	Base path where the Framework files and folders are stored. This location combines the Drive Letter and Folderfields and cannot be edited.
Binaries	Folder where the Framework executables are installed.
Data	Folder where the Framework databases are stored.
Report	Folder where the Framework report files are stored.
Log	Folder where the Framework log files are stored.
Spell Check	Folder where the Framework spell check files are stored.
Image	Folder where the Framework images are stored.
Service	Folder for Insula Software supplied databases, such as default databases.
Temp	Folder where the temporary files are stored.
Mail Merge	Folder where the mail merge files are stored.

Linked Files Folders


Client Files	Folder where the client linked files are stored.
Land Files	Folder where the land linked files are stored.
Job Files	Folder where the job linked files are stored.
Purchase Order Files	Folder where the purchase order linked files are stored.

Master Files Folders (Office/ECM)


ECM (inc. drive & path)	Folder where the master files folder are stored.

Master Files Folders (Construction Logistics)


Product/Design (inc drive & path)
OH&S (inc drive & path)
Quality (inc drive & path)

Shutdown Tab

The Shutdown tab controls the availability of Framework ECM.

Shutting Down Framework ECM

Click to disallow any user from logging onto the system based on the entered criteria. When the system is shutdown, the button changes to a Restart button.

Restarting Framework ECM

Click Restart to end the shutdown, allowing users to login to Framework ECM.

Shutting Down Framework Sales Advice Management

Click to disallow any user from logging onto the system based on the entered criteria. When the system is shutdown, the button changes to a Restart button.

Restarting Framework Sales Advice Management

Click Restart to end the shutdown, allowing users to login to Framework Sales Advice Management.

Shutting Down Framework MyNewHome

Click to disallow any user from logging onto the system based on the entered criteria. When the system is shutdown, the button changes to a Restart button.

Restarting Framework MyNewHome

Click Restart to end the shutdown, allowing users to login to Framework MyNewHome.

Key Tab

The Key tab is used to manage the connection of the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key to the Framework ECM licence database as well as display the connection status, licence expiry, version number, and licences for the site.

Sentinel Hardware Security Key

Field	Description
Connection Status	Displays the connection status of the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key. This field cannot be edited.
Activation Status	Kkey activation status: · Active: Indicates that Framework ECM is available for use. · Inactive: Indicates that the licence to run Framework ECM has expired. This field cannot be edited.
Licence Server Name	Displays the server name of the Framework Licence database. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.
Licence DSN Name	Displays the name of the Framework Licence database ODBC DSN connection. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.

Framework Licence Database

Field	Description
Licence Server Name	Name of the licence server stored in the database.
Licence DSN Name	Name of the Framework Licence database ODBC DSN connection.
Key Server Name	Name or IP address of the server where the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key is located.
Key Code (decimal)	Security code of the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key. This information is provided by Insula Software. Note: This is NOT the key number.

Activation Expiry

Field	Description
Expires	Date when the current Framework ECM licence expires. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.

Software Series

Field	Description
Software Series	Current Sentinel Hardware Licence Key software series.

Version Number

Field	Description
Framework Version	Current version of the Framework ECM database. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.

Licences Group

Field	Description
Hard Limit	Size of the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.
Sales Advice	Number of Framework Sales Advice Management licences. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.
Logistics Desktop	Number of Framework Logistics Desktop licences. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.
MyNewHome	Number of Framework MyNewHome licences. This information is stored in the Sentinel Hardware Licence Key and cannot be edited.

Buttons

Description

Click to launch the Field Exchange Utility.

Tip:
- For more information on the Field Exchange Utility, please see the Framework ECM Installation Guide.
- The utility can also be started from the Start menu (Start > All Programs > Insula Software > Utilities> Field Exchange Utility).

Click to apply and save any changes. The Framework Configuration Utility will close.

Licensing Tab

The Licensing tab is used to display the number of licences purchased for each module of Framework ECM.

Updating The Framework Licence Database

In Framework Configuration Utility:

Select the Licensing tab.
Click Update. The Update Licence dialog will be displayed.
Browse to the location of the Framework Licence Zip file.

Typically: \\[fw folder]\Service\02 - Upgrade Data\
Select the Framework Licence Zip file.
Click Open. A confirmation prompt will appear.
Click OK. The Framework Licence database will be updated.

Buttons

Description

Click to update the Framework licence database.

Click to refresh the Licences list.

Note: If licences are updated via the Field Exchange Utility, the Sentinel Key service will have to be restarted or the server will have to be rebooted for the change in licences to appear on the Licensing tab.

Job Licences Tab

The Job Licences tab is used to manage all job licences. The details of a job to which a licence has been allocated is displayed against each licence.

Repair Jobs Tab

The Repair Jobs tab is used to assign licences to jobs that are not associated with a job licence.

Support Tab

The Support tab is used to manage the technical support details for the Framework Product Suite.

Local (On-Site) Support Contact

Field	Description
Contact	Primary contact name of the local on-site support.
Phone	Contact phone number of the local on-site support.
Email	Contact email address of the local on-site support.

Framework Solution Provider

Field	Description
Company	Company name of the Framework Solution Provider.
Contact	Primary contact person of the Framework Solution Provider.
Phone	Primary contact phone number of the Framework Solution Provider.
Facsimile	Primary contact fax number for the Framework Solution Provider.
Email	Primary contact email address for the Framework Solution Provider.
Website	Website of the Framework Solution Provider.

Framework Developer Group

Field	Description
Company	Company that developed the Framework Product Suite.
Contact	Primary contact person of the Framework Product Suite developer.
Phone	Primary contact number of the Framework Product Suite developer.
Facsimile	Primary fax number of the Framework Product Suite developer.
Email	Primary support email address of the Framework Product Suite developer.
Website	Website of the Framework Product Suite developer.
