Backup (Automatic) - Framework Logistics Tablet Database

CRITICAL

Edit the backup.bat file located in the C:\Framework\Synchronise\ folder to ensure the correct organisation details are included. If this folder is not available, please use the manual backup method.

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Browse to: C:\Framework\Synchronise\
  3. Double-click the file: backup.bat
  4. A backup of the Framework Logistics Tablet database will be created and copied to the location entered in the backup.bat file.

Step 3 - Upgrade Framework Logistics Tablet Database

The following procedure upgrades the Framework Logistics Tablet database.

CRITICAL

The Framework Logistics Tablet database must have previously been upgraded to v7.0.0. Contact your Framework administrator if you are not running the Framework Logistics Tablet v7.0.0 database.

The Framework Logistics Tablet database upgrade can be performed either manually or silently. The manual upgrade option requires user intervention and selections whilst the silent upgrade option, which uses a command line switch, requires no user intervention and is therefore useful for group policy rollouts across multiple Tablet PCs. Both manual and silent installation options are included.

If during the upgrade process 'Not Responding' appears in the title bar of the Framework Logistics Tablet Upgrade software, this is due to the system performing very long and CPU-intensive calculations. This message will disappear once the upgrade has been completed.

You must have completed the Microsoft SQL Server backup (outlined in step 2) before proceeding further.
