Switching Framework to Entitlements

Overview

This article explains how to switch a Framework Version 8 system from using the sentinel hardware key to the Insula Entitlements system using the Framework Configuration Utility.

Ensure you have reviewed Framework v8 Pre-Requisites Checklist, prior to continuing with this guide.

Prior to switching you must have your LAN service installed and the entitlements synced to it.

Shutdown Framework

Prior to switching to Entitlements, you must ensure all users are logged out and then Shutdown Framework.

Entitlement Information

 

Click on the Entitlements tab then;

  1. Toggle Enabled? to Yes.

  2. Click the drop-down selector on Entitlement Sentinel Code. This will retrieve the current Sentinel Code from the database.

  3. Enter the URL for the LAN service. (eg: http://”LAN service location”:85/API/Licence)

  4. Enter the URL for the Entitlements API. (eg: https://”entitlement-api-url”.pstpf.com.au)

  5. Click save and ok.


Restart Framework

Click on the Shutdown tab and select Restart Now.

Test Framework ECM

Open Framework and ensure that you can log in.

You can confirm if a license is being taken by checking your LAN service entitlements page. This will show how many licenses are in use.

Upgrading Logistics Tablet to use Entitlements.

  1. Upgrade the Logistics Tablet - Framework Logistics Tablet Upgrade v8.0.

  2. Open Framework ECM, only after this has been upgraded to v8

  3. Open the Security Module

  1. Select Preference - Perspective Platform - License Entitlement

  1. Select End User Licensee field and input your End User Licensee

  1. Select Entitlement Username field and input your Entitlement Username

  1. Select Entitlement Password field and input your Entitlement Password

  1. Click Ok and Close.

  2. Framework logistics tablet Entitlements have now been enabled.

 

Upgrading Sales Advise to use Entitlements.

After the upgrade AND while the key is still plugged in

  1. Install Sales Advice Management version 8

  2. Log into Sales Advice Management.

  3. Click on the File / LAN Sync / Administration tab.

  4. Click on the Entitlement/Licence Sync button.

 

  1. Close Sales Advice and reopen to test whether the new entitlements are working.
