Sending SMS from Framework

Sending SMS from Framework

A new feature of Framework ECM is the ability to send SMS messages to clients, custom recipients or entities. This can be done by selecting New from the CRM > Job SMS screen, Tools > SMS Messages screen or Comment Overview.

Job Specific
If set to Yes, the SMS message will be saved against the selected job. You can select to include the Job number and/or the address into the SMS message.

The SMS section displays the Send details of the message.

Recipient: Custom
This is where recipients that are not available in the Client Contacts or Entities list can be typed in.
1. Type in the name.
2. Enter the mobile number
Use the (Copy) button to add to the Recipients list.

Recipients: Client Contacts
To add to the recipient list, select the Client Contact (only those with a mobile number) and either double click or use the (Copy) button.

Recipients: Framework Entities
To add to the recipient list, select the Entity (only those with a mobile number) and either double click or use the button. You can select all or multiple entities by employing the Shift or Ctrl keys.
The entity role will default to Staff Member, but any role can be selected, and entity name searched to find the appropriate recipient.

SMS Recipients List
These are the recipients selected for this SMS message. Individual recipients can be removed by selecting and using the Remove button.
To clear all the recipients, use the Remove All button.

Message
The message automatically has a signature block created with the User and Region/Division. If the selections to include Job number and Address have been made in the Job panel, they will be present too, but can be edited.
The message block is free-typed.

A count of the characters is run to advise how many text messages are being created. If the character count exceeds 160 characters, the message will become two combined messages.

OK = Send
Once you have reviewed your recipients list and message content, click OK to send. Review carefully, because once OK is selected, the message is in the pathway to the recipient and cannot be retrieved.

Important : SMS Recognised formats.
The Gateway for SMS has some restrictions on the way SMS numbers can be presented: Recognised formats are +61 4XX XXX XXX, 614XXXXXXXX, 04XX XXX XXX, 04XXXXXXXX. For international; +[CountryCode][MobileNumber].
