The Finance Shop Release Notes

Increased flexibility on how you can install The Finance Shop

In all previous versions of TFS licencing was controlled by the Sentinel key. This required yearly updating by the user and restricted the ways that TFS could be accessed.  TFS 13 introduces a completely new method of managing your TFS licences which will allow for greater flexibility in the way that the system can be accessed.

  • When you log into TFS it checks the new Entitlements database to see how many licences that you have available.
  • To facilitate this there is an Entitlements Server and a LAN Service.
  • The LAN Service regularly checks the Entitlements Server for any updates in the available licences for the system.

Entitlements Server

You will be supplied with a login to the Entitlements Server where you can view

  • Entitlements.
  • Entitlement Groups

Entitlements

The Entitlements screen shows you the components of TFS that you have access to.

The one of main interest is the Catalog Item - The Finance Shop Main which is the core program.

  1. General Details - This shows how many days that you can run the item without a connection from the LAN Service to the Entitlements system.
  2. LAN Registration -  This shows the location where the LAN service is running.
  3. Licences - Shows how many licences that you have. You can assign licences to specific groups of users or even specific users.

LAN Service

The LAN Service draws down your entitlements from the Entitlements Server. The LAN service allows you to;

  • Quickly see who is using the licences.
  • Assign licences to specific groups so that they can only be used by certain users.
