The User screen displays information about TFS users and their group associations. User groups are useful as permissions can be assigned to groups of users rather than individual users making it easier to manage high level security.

  • From the Security section on the Sidebar select User.
  • From the Administration menu, select Security then User.



Although it is possible to enter a new user through this screen, Insula Software recommends using the New User Wizard (File > New User)

  1. Select the User Group list. A shadow will appear around the list to indicate it is selected.
  2. Click the New button. The User Group dialog will be displayed.



  3. Enter the name.
  4. Click the Short Name Copy button ( ) if the short name is to be the same as the name.
    OR
    Enter a short name.
  5. Click the OK button. The User Group dialog will close.
