TFS 13 introduced the ability to email clients and contacts directly from within TFS. 

Below is an example of the email dialog box


  1. The toolbar. 

Description

Perform spellcheck on the email
Send the email.

Copy selected text to the clipboard.
Cut selected text to the clipboard.

Paste the contents of the clipboard.

Undo the last change made.

Redo the last undone change made.

Apply Bold formatting.

Apply Italic formatting.
Apply underline formatting.
Apply Strikethrough formatting.
Opens the colour selector.
Apply an indent.

Apply an outdent.

Left justify the text.

Centre the text.

Right justify the text

Insert numbering.
Insert bullets.
Insert a link.
Insert a horizontal line.

Insert a picture.

Insert a hyperlink to an image to include in email. This option is useful to keep the size of your email below the maximum 5MB.


2. The Client that the comment will be made against. If the email is against an Entity the dialog changes to show the Entity that the email will be written against 



3. The current application.  This only relates to client emails.
4. The address that the receiver will see the email having been sent to. This is defined in TFS Administration.
5. The recipients of the email.
6. Select whether the from address will be Cc'd or Bcc'd.
7. Click on the  button to select the template that you want to use for the email.
8. The Subject line for the email.
9. The text body of the email. This will automatically populate with the signature of the user that is logged into TFS.
10. The attach functions to add attachments to the email.

The maximum size of an email cannot exceed 5MB. If the email gets too large the Email Size indicator, at the bottom right, will turn red  
and if you try and send the email you will see the following message;


11. Click to Send the email.
12. Click to close the email without sending.
