The Delays screen contains a list of standard delay types, such as rain, late labour, etc. Delays can also be entered on a supervisor's tablet using Framework Logistics Tablet.

Creating A Batch Delay

1. From the View drop-down, select a view.

2. Click Batch. The Batch Delays dialog will be displayed.

3. Enter the details.

4. Click OK. The dialog will close and the batch delays will be performed for the selected jobs.

Creating A Delay

1. From the View drop-down, select a view.

 2. Click New. The Delay dialog will be displayed.

 3. Enter the details.

 4. Click OK. The dialog will close and a new delay will be created.

Foreseeable Delays

Foreseeable delays are the allowances that are included in the contract to cover the types of delays that may be expected to occur during the construciton stage.  The Foreseeable Delays screen is used to enter these delays.

Creating a Foreseeable Delay

  1. From the Foreseeable Delays scree, click New. The Foreseeable Delay dialog will be displayed.

  2. Select the class to which this foreseeable delay type applies (most likely weather), and the allowable days.

  3. Click OK. The dialog will close and the foreseeable delay will be created.


Creating A Delay

  1. From the Delays screen, Click New.
    The Delay dialog will be displayed

  2. Enter the details against each field.
  3. Click OK. The dialog will close and a new delay will be created.

Tip

Delay Dialog Field Definitions

General Group

Reason - This dialog is used to record details of the delay reason. Delay reasons are allocated to the delay class. 

Delay Entitiy Group

Labour/Supplier Role - Labour/supplier role affected by the delay.

Company - Company affected by the delay.

Contact Person - Contact person from the company affected by the delay.

Supplier Notes - Free text for notes regarding the delay.

Wok Flow Group

Date - Start date of the delay. The default date is today's date.

Open Claim? - Is the claim open-ended? Eg: A brick supplier who has promised delivery of bricks without giving a firm delivery date.

Date Until - End date of the delay, if the delay is over a period.

Claimable? - Is the delay claimable against the contract? Eg: Yes, for weather or No, for RDO.

Claimed - Date the delay claim was raised or submitted.

Approved - Date the delay claim was approved. Depending on the terms of the building contract, the claim may be approved by management or may require client approval.

Notes Group

Free text area for notes regarding the delay.


Creating A Batch Delay

  1. From the Delays screen, click Batch.
    The Batch Delays dialog will be displayed

  2. Adjust the Filter By field (click the refresh button if needed)
  3. Toggle the Action Items.  Eg: Create Delay?, Create Delay Claims?, Print Delay Claims?.

  4. Select (tick) the job/s that require a delay and/or delay claim.

    Tip

    To select ALL jobs, click Image Added

    To deselect ALL jobs, click Image Added


  5. Click OK to add the claims to the selected jobs.
  6. Click Yes.

  7. The Delay dialog will appear. Enter the details in each field.

  8. Click OK.
  9. If you toggled Yes to 'Print Delay Claims?', the following dialog will appear.
  10. Click Yes or No, as required.

  11. Once the delays and/or delay claims are processed, you will be prompted to select the required Delay Claim Letter

  12. Select the Letter and click Print.
  13. The dialog will close and the batch delays and/or delay claims will be printed for the selected jobs.
