Editing the Framework Application Icon Compatibility

Complete this on any Framework Application that is failing to Start correctly

NOTE: These instruction relating to 'Troubleshoot Compatibility' only apply to versions of Framework <7.0.9800 (e.g. 7.0.97xx, v7.0.94xx, v6.3. and earlier)

  1. Right Click on the Icon
    Image Modified

  2. Click on the Troubleshoot Program

  3. Select the below settings

  4. Select Windows 7

  5. Click on Test the program...

  1. Run Regedit.exe
  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
  3. Add a DWORD (32bit)
  4. New DWORD should be named EnableLinkedConnections 
  5. Edit the Vaue = 1
  6. You must reboot your PC after making this change.

Related issues

Installing the application with administrative rights is a requirement for first time installs to ensure sufficient rights to install Framework and it's components.

  1. Log into the user machine as an administrator user (domain admin / local administrator)
  2. Open programs and features
  3. Uninstall the Framework Application (or any application affected)
  4. Reinstall the same version as previous
  5. Launch Framework Application using the domain admin account (once - ensure it is working)
  6. Log back into the user account and run Framework Application - it should launch
