  • From the Contact menu, select Assets and Liabilities.
  • From the sidebar, select Contact then A & L.

Adding an Asset

  1. From the Name drop-down list, select a contact.
  2. Select the Assets list. A shadow will appear around the list to indicate it is selected.
  3. Click the New button. The Asset dialog will be displayed.

  4. Enter the asset details.
  5. Select the Owners tab.

  6. Double-click the contacts who own the asset. The selected contact(s) will have a 'tick' placed next to them.
  7. Click the OK button.

Note

If you set Encumbrance to  Yes and enter details a liability record will automatically be created.

Adding a Liability

  1. From the Name drop-down list, select a contact.
  2. Select the Liabilities list. A shadow will appear around the list.
  3. Click the New button. The Liability dialog will be displayed.

  4. Enter the liability details.
  5. Select the Owners tab.

  6. Double-click the contacts who own the liability. The selected contact(s) will have a 'tick' placed next to them.
  7. Click the OK button.


Note

IMPORTANT CONCEPTS

  • Show All?: displays all the assets and liabilities for a contact including joint ownership assets and liabilities. Changing the Show All? field to Yes will add two (2) extra columns to the lists:
    • Contact?: indicates if an asset or liability is owned by the contact listed in the Name field.
    • Joint?: indicates whether an asset or liability is jointly owned by the contact in the Name field and another contact.
