Overview

  • We need simple docs to explain the change that has come in v8 with how we now do SupplierConnect communication.

    • We no longer use and rely on Outlook

    • Instead, all communications are queued and sent via the cloud when connectivity is available

    • the status of a request can be seen in the UI.

  • We need to show/explain how the Framework Cloud Connector is used within the office.
Docs must show how notifications can be accessed and what happens when it's detected that the connector is not operating.

A change has been made to the way Logistics (SupplierConnect) notifications are issued via Framework ECM.

Although SupplierConnect emails were previously sent via the Framework Cloud Gateway, they are now queued and sent in the same way as the Logistics Tablet solution.

A new UI icon has been added which will give an overview of the schedule request Outbox.

Note: Standard emails are still issued immediately via ECM and are not queued in the same way as the Logistics Tablet software.

Functionality Delivered

As issues will arise from time to time, office teams will be able to acknowledge/remove any items in their Outbox which may not be able to be sent, due to invalid email addresses, connectivity issues etc. This will help office teams keep track of any items that need to be re-issued as well as give visibility of any potential issues that may need to be raised with internal IT teams.

From the Framework ECM Production Module, a new icon has been added to the status bar (bottom of the application), alongside the Cloud Connector Status button.

Note: The icon will flash Red if there are any issues and will continue to flash until the issues are dismissed.
