Adding an Inspection Template

  • Ensure you have either the Onsite Inspect - Data Administrator or System Administrator perspective selected.

  • Select Administration / Inspection Templates.

  • Click on the Add Inspection Template button.

    A. This text will be displayed as the person who is performing the inspection commences work on it. It can be used to give guidance and instructions.
    B. This text will be displayed as the person who is performing the inspection submits the inspection.
    C. If ticked you can specify that work is required to complete this item. This then allows workflow for the item (e.g. Start, Finish, Sign off).
    D. If no items require work the inspection is automatically signed off.
    E. If ticked then the person signing off the inspection must accept the terms and conditions set against the inspection.
    F. The text the user will see regaring accepting the terms and conditions.
    G.The URL to the terms and conditions.
    H. You can define who is required to sign off the inspection. These are not standard platform roles.
    I. You can specify whether the signature is mandatory..
    J. Autocomplete notes can be used to quickly add notes to an inspection item.

    Enter the details of the template. When you click Save you will receive the following message;

    If you tick Work is Allowed this means that the items will follow the same workflow as a standard inspection.
    If you tick, the Terms and Conditions are Required? option you can then supply a URL to your terms and conditions.

Ad hoc item Format

When you have added the template you can define what type of item will be added if you add an item to the inspection.

Defect item - You will be able to enter an item in the same format as you do in a non-structured inspection.
Standard item - This will allow you to add an item in the format shown below;

When you click on the Add Item button, the following screen is displayed.

A. Select the group that the item belongs to.

The name of the item
C. The description for the item.
D. There are 4 different Response Types.
Data List - Data response types (e.g. Yes/No)
Date - The user must supply a date from the date picker. The default will be the current date.
Date/Time - The user must supply a date and time. The default will be the current date and time.
Time - The user must supply a time. The default will be the current time.

E. The Response Group to use.
F. Optionally you can define a default response.
G. The item format determines whether you can supply one or multiple answers.
H. Determines what is a satisfactory answer. The option are;
i) Satisfied when all selected are Satisfactory.
ii) Satisfied when none are selected.
iii) Satisfied when all are selected.

You can add as many items as required to a group.
