This option is only available if the licensee is setting to allow Check-In / Out is enabled.

Pre-requisite: The document checkout LAN path is specified in the Site settings for Document Structure.
Document check in / check out settings needs to be enabled from the DB Settings for the Licensee.

  1. Login as DMS Licensee or Admin and Goto Contacts and find a contact say 'User A'

  1. The "Document Check In/Out Settings" accordion appears if the licensee settings is turned ON.

  1. From this accordion if there is no settings for this user, click on 'edit' and enter details for the 'Working Folder'- this is the physical folder on the Document Checkout LAN Path mentioned in the Site for the Document Structure, which is used to place the checked out documents by this user, enter 'Default Site' and 'Check out Site' and 'Save'.

  1. Once the settings is saved, the doucment structures for the licensee appear with check boxes.

  1. Select one or more structures as desired and click 'Create Working Folder'.

  1. Login as that user 'User A' and check out any document from the document view page (User needs to have

'Edit' permissions for the document type for the saved document).

  1. Edit the document.

If you hover over a document you will see two options;

  1. Check in

  2. Undo Check out.
